As UNC Charlotte ushers in a new academic year, fall Gold Rush programming will look different than it has in previous years. Still, new and returning students can celebrate the start of the fall semester by participating in the more than 30 virtual events hosted by University departments and student organizations.
Gold Rush serves as UNC Charlotte’s welcome program and aims to instill a sense of Niner pride, teach campus traditions and expose students to campus resources and opportunities for involvement. Events begin Friday, Sept. 4, and run through Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Signature events include:
- First Day of Class Photos: Monday, Sept. 7, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., hosted by New Student & Family Services
- UBelong at UREC: Monday, Sept. 7, 2 to 3 p.m., hosted by University Recreation
- UCC Web Jamboree: Thursday, Sept. 10, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., hosted by University Career Center
- CAPS Fall Festival: Tuesday, Sept. 15, noon to 3 p.m., hosted by Counseling and Psychological Services
To view and participate in upcoming virtual Gold Rush events, students can download the Gold Rush and Year One Launch guide within the Niner DestiNation mobile app. The app is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
A full schedule of events can be found on the New Student & Family Services website.
