It's time to recognize the exceptional dedication and achievements of our colleagues!

Nominations for the 2026 Divisional Annual Awards are open until 8 a.m. Monday, March 23. Student Affairs invites all staff to nominate fellow colleagues, teams and campus partners who have gone above and beyond to support student success and the mission of the division.

This year there are 18 different awards accepting nominations, all of which can be found at the new Awards Hub. These are split into four different categories: Divisional Recognition and Excellence, Up and Coming, Collaboration and Hidden Heroes.

“The SA Annual Awards are a great opportunity to pause and celebrate the dedication and teamwork that drive student success,” Dennis Wiese, associate vice chancellor, said. “By recognizing these amazing contributions, we highlight our division’s commitment to excellence.”

Here are some quotes from previous winners about what it meant to earn their award:

Sean Grandison, Above and Beyond Facilities Support Winner: “It was so fulfilling, even though I'm not doing it for accolades, to be recognized by the faculty and staff that come in the building. All of my hours in this building, the award meant for me that I was making a difference.”

Mikala Harvey, Rising Star Winner: “I feel just an immense amount of gratitude that there are people who would think that highly of me. I get to do what I love … but to have that level of honor and appreciation, and that my colleagues see the work I do is valuable, it's definitely a motivating factor.”

Wendy Moore, Positive Impact Winner: “I got a little emotional because I felt like somebody else noticed the things that I’m doing. I was just doing my work … I want to be the best business services specialist I can be for them. It touched my heart honestly. I’m very grateful for that award.”

Benjamin Moten, Outstanding Mentor Winner: “I was really taken aback in the best of ways. When your work isn’t directly student facing, you question how much of an impact you are having. So I was very grateful to be recognized by my peers and colleagues.

Stephanie Rewitzer, Assessment Champion Winner: “The award coming from partners and people that I get to consistently work with and see them do really wonderful work just made it all the more special.”
