UNC Charlotte moves to gold level designation on Military Friendly Schools list

UNC Charlotte earned a 2021-22 Military Friendly®​ ​School Gold Award for its commitment to military service members, veterans and their dependents. The University currently serves more than 1,200 military veteran students, faculty and staff.

Students can find much more than community and social connection in Greek organizations. Membership can lead to committee participation, developing skills in recruitment, philanthropy or programming. Committee chairs often graduate to executive board responsibilities, which involve a high level of responsibility with national offices or headquarters to keep the organization operating and thriving.

UNC Charlotte's Fraternity and Sorority Life helped someone like Tate Leonard, who came to the University from a small hometown, find a community after a difficult first year. Thanks to his exposure to the fraternity and sorority community, he said those connections came easy, and it has made for a very positive experience at Charlotte.

A $10 million gift will fund the construction of a campus outdoor complex to provide year-round opportunities for student gatherings, including tailgating prior to Charlotte 49ers football games. We want this space for Charlotte students to be named by Charlotte students. See rules.

Ski & Snowboard Club returns strong from USCSA National Championships

The UNC Charlotte Ski & Snowboard Club returned from the 2022 United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships in Lake Placid, New York with several awards and accolades. The club competes in a national organization comprising of over 170 colleges with over 5,000 student athletes.

Grace Nixon and Alexa Schoubert Help Bring Amplify to Life at UNC Charlotte

Grace Nixon and Alexa Schoubert were part of a group of five students behind Amplify, a campaign implemented at the University to promote multi-dimensional wellbeing to enhance community and individual wellbeing.

Amplify was created to increase knowledge of the four departments that make up Charlotte’s wellbeing resources: University Recreation, the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services, the Center for Wellness Promotion and the Student Health Center.

Dean Christine Reed Davis Earns Melvene D. Hardee Dissertation of the Year Award

UNC Charlotte’s Christine Reed Davis, Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, was awarded the Melvene D. Hardee Dissertation of the Year Award by NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. Davis was selected for the award in a competitive field of submissions from across the country.
