Charlotte’s Financial Literacy Symposium Brings UNC System Together

The UNC System’s inaugural Financial Literacy Symposium, hosted at UNC Charlotte Nov. 3-4, aimed to help UNC System universities launch sustainable and responsive student-focused financial literacy programs on their campuses, following a model set by UNC Charlotte. Charlotte launched Niner Finances, the system’s first comprehensive college student-focused financial literacy program, in 2020.

Torres-Weiner Brings Día de Muertos to Charlotte’s Campus with Ofrenda Building

UNC Charlotte is celebrating Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, with a three-day event led by local artist Rosalia Torres-Weiner. 

Starting Sunday, Oct. 30, students will begin building an Ofrenda in the Popp Martin Student Union (PMSU) Art Gallery. Ofrendas are elaborately decorated altars used to celebrate deceased loved ones during Día de Muertos.

Fifty-five civic and community leaders from across the state have been accepted to form the 2022-2023 class for Leadership North Carolina (LNC) the state’s premier leadership engagement program. One of this year's members is UNC Charlotte's own Christine Reed Davis, associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students.

Center for Integrated Care Offers One-Stop Shop for Wellbeing Resources

Finding the right balance of wellness care as a college student can be daunting. UNC Charlotte’s new Center for Integrated Care (CIC) is trying to make that process easier.

CIC is currently located in the Christine F. Price Center for Counseling and Psychological Services and is accepting appointments by phone or online. Its goal is to work with students to identify the best path for their individual wellness goals and help them find the appropriate support on campus or in the community.
