A native of Illinois, Dr. Wiese earned an Associates Degree in Computer Science and his bachelors and masters degrees in History from Illinois State University.  He achieved his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a concentration in statistics and research methods at Clemson University while working full-time for the university.
 
Prior to his arrival at UNC Charlotte in 2008, Dr. Wiese served as a visiting professor in Educational Leadership at Clemson University.  At UNC Charlotte, his administrative portfolio includes the research and assessment for the Division of Student Affairs and areas dedicated to the transition and retention of UNC Charlotte students and the support of their parent and family members.
