UNC Charlotte’s official welcome program, Gold Rush, kicks off the spring semester with a series of virtual events designed to instill Niner Pride, teach campus traditions and expose students to University resources and opportunities for involvement.
Spring Gold Rush begins Wednesday, Jan. 20 and runs through Friday, Feb. 26. Currently, the schedule, which is available on the New Student and Family Services (NSFS) website, features more than 20 events. New and returning students can participate in virtual programming such as the MLK Celebration with guest speaker Ted Shaw, the 49er Gold Rush 5k, a workshop on how to stay well in college during the COVID-19 pandemic, and various University Recreation fitness classes.
Unlike previous semesters, NSFS is doing a rolling submission process for events and will continue to add events to the schedule through Friday, Feb. 26. Faculty, Staff and Student Organizations who wish to have their programs added to the Gold Rush schedule can submit event information online.
