Popp Martin Student Union recently added a new section to their website to help students, faculty, staff and community members plan an event inside the Union. Images of meeting and event spaces, room capacities, rental rates, pricing information and valuable event planning resources are now available in one spot to give event planners a better idea of the spaces and equipment available to them before they reserve their space through Conferences, Reservations and Event Services (CRES).

“Having this information front and center on our website allows us to provide a transparent view of what the Union offers as part of our meeting and event spaces and services. Our goal is to help community members continue to plan excellent events in the Union,” said Morgan Meehan, director of Popp Martin Student Union and Cone University Center. “Since it opened in 2009, the Union has been the community center for our University, providing services, conveniences and state of the art meeting, gathering, program and event spaces. This website advancement expands our commitment to providing these things to our community.”

The Union, which reserves space for more than 790 meetings and events each month, features over 17 meeting and event spaces that can be booked by the University community. A 1,092 person capacity multipurpose space, movie theater, lobby tables and multiple meeting rooms are all available inside the Union.

To navigate this new website feature, those who wish to plan an event in the Union can visit “Plan An Event” on the Union website. From there, head to “Our Spaces” to see the meeting and event spaces available on the second and third floors of the facility. Capacity information and ideal use for each space is viewable here. Selecting “Read More” for each space will redirect you to Social Tables, which allows you to view each room’s various set up configurations.

The “Rates and Pricing Information” page displays rental rates and pricing for basic audio/visual equipment, sound and lighting systems, labor and more for four groups (those not affiliated with the University, University departments who are charging a registration or admittance fee for their event, University departments who are not charging a registration or admittance fee for their event and Student Organizations registered through the Office of Student Involvement).

CRES still manages the reservation of Union spaces. A “Plan An Event” section will be available on the Cone University Center website soon.
