Serena Kamdem
Bonnie E. Cone Leadership Award Recipient
Serena earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and in Criminal Justice in May 2024. Serena was involved across campus; she was a member of the Student Alumni Society, a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program, a Student Justice in the Student Government Association, a Lead Ambassador for the University Honors Program, and a Building Manager in the Student Centers. Serena previously served as the Vice President of the Caribbean Student Association. Serena held the distinction of being president of not one, but two pre-law student organizations. She was the President of the Pre-Law Society and is the founder and former President of the Black-Law Society. In her statement, Serena shared “Founding the Black Law Society has been one of the most pivotal moments in my leadership journey. Recognizing the need for a supportive community for black pre-law students, I took initiative to create a space where individuals could thrive academically, professionally, and personally."
